Delivery Driver
Details: Deliver to schools and wholesale customers in a small box truck (DOT medical clearance required; CDL a perk but not required) delivering produce. Routes will also include deliveries in high top reefer vans for home delivery, CSA pick-up locations and to restaurants! Delivery areas include Washington, DC, Northern VA, Montgomery County, Baltimore City + County, Frederick, Annapolis. Looking for clean driving records, someone who has great attention to detail and can represent our farm business well to customers!
Compensation: Pay starts at $20-22/hour with opportunities for advancement, negotiable with experience. Crew members get a medium CSA box weekly, PTO (40-80 hours/yearly), paid lunch break and sick leave. All employees have access to a retirement account through Maryland Saves.
Hours: Tuesday - Friday; full time and part time available

Greenhouse Hand
Job Description
Moon Valley Farm is seeking an experienced grower to work with our Production Manager to facilitate production in two greenhouses and eight high tunnels. This person should be versed in and passionate about organic agriculture and resolved to innovate and adapt as climate change and market interests fluctuate. We farm year-round and are always looking to improve our farming methods, yields, plant health and worker conditions. Additionally, as the farm continues to grow, we plan to expand and innovate with our greenhouse/high tunnel operations. The greenhouse hand should be willing and able to be decisive yet thoughtful in keeping all of these factors in mind. Hours will naturally need to be heavier in the summer than the winter, but the work is year-round and relatively consistent. Will work closely with farm owner Emma and the other managers.
ROLES + RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitate seeding operations
Organize and keep track of seed inventory
Maintain seeding records according to organic certification requirements
Ensure seeding and seedlings are on schedule according to production calendar
Lead a team that will assist in large scale seeding/transplanting projects
Manage greenhouse/high tunnel crop production and infrastructure
Create and execute on irrigation schedule for greenhouses and high-tunnels, including the use of timers and instruments for measuring moisture
Maintain healthy transplants/crops through regulation of temperature, scouting/spraying for pests, fertilization, etc.
Maintain greenhouse infrastructure (heat, plastic, tables, lights, etc) and communicate any/all issues or maintenance needs
Lead a team that will assist in large scale greenhouse/high tunnel projects
Facilitate Annual Plant Sale
Create and execute on a schedule for starting seedlings for our Annual Plant Sale in May
Organize greenhouses to promote sales and facilitate customer access
Track sales and update inventory as needed to match greenhouse production to customer needs

Pack Shed + Food Safety Manager
Position Overview:
We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented, team leader to manage our Pack Shed to oversee the day-to-day operations of orders coming through our operation. The ideal candidate will lead our pack team to wash, sort, and pack produce for upcoming orders while ensuring compliance with quality, timeliness, and food safety standards. This role also involves maintaining and improving food safety practices, managing inventory, and collaborating with key team members to align operations with business growth and strategy. Spanish proficiency is a plus as our team speaks both Spanish and English.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Pack Team Management:
Lead, train, and supervise the pack shed team to efficiently wash, pack, and sort orders.
Ensure all orders meet quality, food safety, and time standards.
Monitor and optimize workflow to meet production deadlines and minimize waste.
2. Food Safety Standards Compliance:
Maintain and enhance food safety protocols to meet GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) and FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) requirements.
Conduct regular food safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
Ensure all team members are trained in and adhere to food safety and handling procedures.
3. Inventory Management and Reporting:
Oversee accurate inventory management, including input, output, and storage of produce and supplies.
Maintain detailed and timely records of product tracking, including organic certification documentation.
Generate reports on inventory and production data to support business decisions.
4. Cross-Department Collaboration:
Work closely with the Farm Manager to ensure compliance with organic standards and align harvesting schedules with packing needs.
Collaborate with the Sales + Marketing Teams to coordinate sales, marketing initiatives, and delivery logistics.
Partner with the Owner to strategize on business growth, identify areas for improvement, and align operations with overall business goals.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in agricultural operations, food production, or a similar role, preferably in an organic or sustainable setting.
Strong understanding of GAP and FSMA food safety requirements.
Spanish-proficiency is preferred or ability to communicate well with Spanish-speakers
Experience managing teams and leading by example in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Familiarity with inventory management systems and reporting tools.
Knowledge of organic certification processes is a plus.
Schedule & Compensation:
Schedule: Sunday through Thursday, 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
Wage: $22-$26/hr, commensurate with experience.
